What is the Benchley-Weinberger Foundation?

The Foundation is a registered 501(c) 3, non-profit organization, created by BW parents. The objective of the Foundation is to fund present and future programs or projects designed to benefit the children at Benchley-Weinberger. The Foundation compliments BW’s outstanding PTA. The bylaws of the Foundation offer tremendous flexibility in the allocation of funds to programs, services and equipment that cannot be supported by the PTA fundraising activities. The PTA and the Foundation have become vital partners in sustaining the high standards of our school.

What are the Foundations activities?

The Foundation sponsors several fund-raising activities throughout the year including the:  Jog-A-Thon, Auction Dinner, and Golf Tournament.

What has the Foundation accomplished?

The Foundation raises money which fund and support many school programs including the Library, Media Center, Music Program, Art Program and the Running Program.. The Foundation also gives to the Kindergarten Garden, maintains the projectors for all classrooms and in recent years purchased all new laptops for the computer lab,

How can I help the Foundation?

The Foundation is made up entirely of parents of BW students. They volunteer their time to support programs and activities that benefit all our children. We meet on a monthly basis at Benchley-Weinberger Elementary School in the Teachers Lounge.  Even though we encourage meeting attendance, there are many other ways to get involved and show your BW support.
